Description
Amendment # 5 The purpose of this amendment is to: 1) Provide answers to additional Offeror questions. 2) Close the period of requesting additional information. Question # 1 Will welding in accordance with MIL-STD 1689 vs ABS requirements be acceptable for the structural welding on this contract? Answer # 1 The contractor will conduct welding in accordance with "Fabrication, Welding and Inspection of Small Boats and Craft, Aluminum Hulls - TO300-AU-SPN-010-A" and Navy Standard Item 009-12. The Contractor will perform welding to this standard to perform the work specified in LARs 64PB-1701. (See attached pdf dated February 13, 2017 in this Amendment # 5.) Question # 2 Do the support stiffeners underneath the HSB swim platform supposed to be replaced with "C" Channels (same as material already installed) or "L" Channels. Answer # 2 "L" Channels Question # 3 A request for clarification in regards to HSB609 boat repairs. Work Items 3.6.3 and 3.6.10 to 3.6.17 were only listed as work items for this vessel. Does this mean accomplish ONLY work items 3.6.3 and 3.6.10 to 3.6.17, and omit 3.1, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5? Answer # 3 Yes. Addendums to the Statement of Work- A. As per Amendment #3 Question # 1, Under the line "Work Items 3.6.3 and 3.6.10 to 3.6.17", 3.6.17 is now replace with 3.6.14, thus it now states "Work Items 3.6.3 and 3.6.10 to 3.6.14". B. As per Amendment #3, The paragraph underneath the "All the items in 3.7 preservation and Painting" is replaced with the following paragraph: The Contractor must follow the applicable requirements when installing the bilge blowers, vents and drain holes on HSB609, which is already bilge coated. As a rule, the Contractor will need to repair all bilge, hull, and superstructure paint and non-skid that was damaged during the course of work using the specified products and application procedures. The contractor will also be required to adhere to the appropriate Work Preparation items. C. Section 2.3 Consolidated List of References: New Reference #50: TO300-AU-SPN-010-A Fabrication, Welding and Inspection of Small Boats and Craft, Aluminum Hulls. D. Section 3.6 Structural Work is re-worded as follows: Accomplish the following repairs IAW paragraphs 2.1 through 2.3, American Bureau of Shipping standards, American Boat and Yacht Council standards and good marine repair practices.* *Note this encompasses and prioritizes aluminum welding standards specified in TO300-AU-SPN-010-A and Navy Standard Item 009-12. E. The Final LAR 36PB-1701 is attached.
