Description
JA Memo Pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b) (1), the U.S. Army, MEDCOM, Joint Base Lewis-McChord Health Contracting Cell (JBLM-HCC), Lacey, WA, intends to issue a sole source Blanket Purchase Agreement to Alcon Laboratories Inc in the amount of $7,000,000.00 which is for five year to purchase Various FDA-Consumable Supplies to be used with the Constellation and Infinity Vision System at the outlying medical treatment facilities (MTFs). All items must be 100% compatible with the Government-owned Constellation Vision System and Infiniti Vision System (both are Alcon Laboratories, Inc. systems). These systems are made by Alcon Laboratories, Inc. as well as the appropriate disposables for use with these machines. The surgeon is trained on the surgical procedures for using these consumable supplies with the existing equipment. Reduced liability risk, administrative and training time represent a cost savings to the Government. Increased likelihood of successful surgery, recovery, and quality of life derived from the most appropriate implants and supplies based on the surgeon's diagnosis is a significant intangible benefit to the Government consistent with the mission of the US Army Medical Command. ALL PRODUCTS MUST BE FDA APPROVED and meet the surgeon's and the patient's specific medical needs/requirements. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR13.106-1(b) (1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice is not a request for quote and a solicitation will not be issued in conjunction with the notice of intent. Any vendor that believes it can provide the stated supplies/equipment can provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capability and specifications. Responses received will be used for future acquisitions. Information can be sent to the Purchasing Agent; Ms. Angela Dexter at angela.a.dexter.civ@mail.mil. No telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. This procurement will be prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
