- Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (LLNS) in support of the Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), Livermore, CA is seeking capable sources for the Systems Engineering, Design, Fabricate, Installation of the Slurry Coating System with a 100 gallon mixer. Specifically, the Project will entail the design, fabrication,installation and commissioning support of custom modular skid-mounted equipment for a slurry coating system, including ASME vessels, agitators, pumps, actuated valves, process heating/cooling system, process gases and vacuum systems, stainless steel piping, process instrumentation, and local control station. The Project will also encompass procurement of materials /components / equipment / specialty items, fabrication management, skilled technician craft labor, supervisory and safety personnel, associated support services, factory acceptance testing, installation, and support of commissioning. The fabricator must be familiar with the materials of construction, including joining methods (welding, brazing, bolted connections), maintaining tight fabrication tolerances, active quality control system and ISO-9001 certification. The estimated cost range of the Project is between $1.5 Million - $2 Million. Draft Statement of Work and Specifications are pending. This is not a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts or quotations. The purpose of this request is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of qualified sources and to determine how to solicit and subcontract for these services. Any price/cost information requested and provided will be used by LLNL for budget estimate purposes only. A site visit will not be conducted at this stage. Responses should include: 1.Identification and verification of the company's business size status to the NAICS Code. 2.Descriptions of Experience - Interested firms must provide no less than three (3) detailed examples of similar, relevant projects with either greater than 95 percent completion or projects completed in the past five (5) years where the interested firm served as the prime contractor. Each project must include the name, title, project role, e-mail address, and telephone number of at least one reference. LLNS may contact references to verify project size, scope, dollar value, percentages and quality of performance. 3.For this project, discuss resources and capabilities of those who would be performing all the key services, i.e., design, fabrication, installation and commissioning support. Where applicable, include capabilities of proposed subcontractors. 4. Rough order of magnitude if different from LLNS estimate. 5.Estimated lead time for completing the Project 6.Discuss your standard contracting approach for providing the services. For example, could you bid this on fix priced basis or time and materials? Would the effort have to be quoted in a phased manner? If so, identify phases. 7.For this type of effort, would be able to provide construction management services?
