Description
This is announcement for an Industry Day on behalf of Program Manager Special Operations Forces - Survival, Support, and Equipment Systems (PM-SOF SSES) to discuss a potential upcoming requirement for a new Aviator Body Armor Vest (ABAV). PM-SOF SSES is looking for a modular ABAV system capable of being configured for operations from USSSOCOM specific airframes that operate over land and water. The personnel requiring the use of a new ABAV system includes pilots and crew of these airframes. Natick Contracting Division (NCD) and PM-SOF SSES are conducting market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10 in advance of a potential solicitation for a new ABAV system. The Industry Day is open to both Small and Other Than Small Businesses who are either Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or Integrators of vests, plate carriers, their components, or similar systems. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 314999 - All Other Miscellaneous Textile Manufacturing. This is an opportunity for vendors to ask questions and view various airframes and crew positions in those vehicles. Questions will be answered regarding the various crew positions within the aircraft, and how any potential ABAV submitted to the Government in response to a future solicitation will be evaluated. Industry Day Dates: 15 - 16 March 2017 Location: Ft. Campbell, KY There is a limit of three people per vendor, however this number may be cut down to two people per vendor if space becomes limited. Every effort will be made by the Government to notify vendors as soon as possible if this becomes the case. The name, position/title, contact information, and name of company must be sent no later than 2359 EST, 8 March 2017, to: Scott Gaumont: Scott.F.Gaumont.civ@mail.mil Paul Yatsco: Paul.D.Yatsco.civ@mail.mil Both of the above POCs must be included on any and all emails. The exact location of the event and instructions for entering Ft. Campbell will be provided to confirmed vendors by the Government after 8 March 2017. Vendors may submit questions related to the Industry Day and potential ABAV solicitation to the POCs identified in this announcement at any time prior to 8 March 2017. Answers will be sent to vendors prior to 14 March 2017. This is an Industry Day announcement only. This is not a request for proposal or invitation for bid. There are no bid packages or solicitations available with this announcement. This announcement does not constitute a procurement commitment by the US Government.
