- The Department of Veterans Affairs Notice of Disposal of Four (4) VA Owned Residences in New York Description: The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) owns four (4) multi-family residences in New York that were used for VA s Compensated Work Therapy/Transitional Residence Program. The program s goal was to provide a transitional housing environment for veterans who were actively engaged in either transitional vocational employment (supportive employment placement) or competitive employment, but who also needed assistance to develop financial management skills and general stability in their housing and employment status. The program was cancelled in October 2014 and the residences have remained vacant ever since. VA wishes to sell and divest itself of these residences to the general public. Residences Details: 43 Tampa Avenue, Albany, NY 12203 Originally Constructed in 1945 1,547 Square Feet 4 Bedrooms 2 Bathrooms Single Family Detached Style 223 Delaware Avenue, Delmar, NY 12054 Originally Constructed in 1920 1,710 Square Feet 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms Single Family Detached Style 893 5th Avenue, Troy, NY 12181 Originally Constructed in 1890 1,848 Square Feet 4 Bedrooms 2 Bathrooms Two Family/Two Unit Style 903 Avenue St. John, Bronx, NY 10455 Originally Constructed in 1910 4,480 Square Feet Multifamily Style The residences will be sold AS IS. Also a variety of due diligence services have been completed on the residences, which include appraisals, boundary surveys, cultural resource studies, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, and preliminary title.
