- THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR AN INDUSTRY DAY TO BE HELD AT GAVIN'S POINT, NEBRASKA THIS INDUSTRY DAY WILL BE CONSIDERED AS THE SITE VISIT!!! NO OTHER SITE VISITS WILL BE SCHEDULED If Visiting from a Foreign Country please fill out Paragraph 2a of the attached Security form, and return NLT 22 February 2017 to Andrew Wright at: Andrew.D.Wright@usace.army.mil The Address for the industry day is: 200 Power plant Rd, Crofton, NE 68730 (Turn off of US 81, West onto NE Hwy 121. Go four miles and you'll run into the Power Plant) Industry Day will be held: March 28-29, 2017 9am to 4pm POC: Moose - 605-760-3041 SUMMARY OF WORK The following is a general summary of the required and optional work. This section is to serve as a full explanation of the intent of the contract and is not all-inclusive. The remaining specifications and drawings will fully detail the work. Work will include all equipment, labor, and materials required to repair three Gavin's Point water passages. This work will be completed with the generating unit in place (no disassembly). Repairs specified for each unit as follows: (1) Turbine maintenance platform work (welding mount/lugs); (2) Fabrication of a template for discharge ring profile; (3) Non-destructive testing, verifying blade integrity; (4) Pre-repair measurements and centerline of repair identification; (5) Machine discharge ring for stainless overlay; (6) Ultrasonic testing, locating of horizontal and vertical stiffeners; (7) Installation of anchoring in discharge ring; (8) Spot repair mapping and excavation of water passage; (9) Additional pre-repair measurements; (10) Non-destructive testing, prior to stainless steel overlay; (11) Stainless steel overlay welding; (12) Rough machining of stainless steel overlay; (13) Check for (and epoxy grout) any voids, plug grout holes; (14) Non-destructive testing, after stainless steel overlay; (15) Finish machining of stainless steel overlay; (16) Non-destructive testing, after final machining; (17) Spot-repairs to discharge ring, blades, and hub; (18) Post-repair measurements; (19) Abrasive-blasting and painting. The turbines are Kaplan-type manufactured by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton (BLH).BIDDER'S QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS Technical inquiries and questions relating to this solicitation are to be submitted via Bidder Inquiry in ProjNet at (https://www.projnet.org) No Later Than (NLT) ten (10) days prior to the bid opening date. A page will then open saying that a user account was not found and will ask you to create one using the provided form. (f) Enter your First Name, Last Name, Company, City, State, Phone, Email, Secret Question, Secret Answer, and Time Zone. Make sure to remember your Secret Question and Answer as they will be used from this point on to access the ProjNet system. (g) Click Add User. Once this is completed you are now registered within ProjNet and are currently logged into the system. Specific Instructions for Future ProjNet Bid Inquiry Access: (a) For future access to ProjNet, you will not be provided any type of password. You will utilize your Secret Question and Secret Answer to log in. (b) From the ProjNet home page linked above, click on Quick Add on the upper right side of the screen. (c) Select the agency USACE. (d) Key. Enter the Bidder Inquiry Key listed above. (e) Email. Enter the email address you used to register previously in ProjNet. (f) Click Continue. A page will then open asking you to enter the answer to your Secret Question. (g) Enter your Secret Answer and click Login. Once this is completed you are now logged into the system. Offerors are requested to review the specification in its entirety, and review the Bidder Inquiry System for answers to questions prior to submission of a new inquiry.
