Description

DA2 OTA Project Forecast as of 17 Feb 2017 This message is to provide you notice of Potential Opportunities under the DA 2 Other Transaction Agreement (OTA). This an OTA for Prototype Projects with SAE International’s Defense Automotive Technology Consortia (DATC) to advance: Automotive Cyber Security, Vehicle Safety Technologies, Vehicle Light Weighting, Autonomous Vehicles and Intelligent Systems, Connected Vehicles, Advanced Energy Storage Technologies, Propulsion Technologies, and Active Suspension Technologies. The purpose of the DA 2 OTA is to encourage non-traditional defense contractors (NTDC), including southeast Michigan commercial automotive manufacturers, to engage with the U.S. Army in a collaborative research environment, allowing the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research and Development and Engineering Command (“TARDEC”) and other agencies to leverage industry advancements in automotive technologies. Under this OTA and associated project agreements, the Government, along with the non-government members from the Defense Automotive Technologies Consortium (DATC), shall carry out prototype projects that are directly relevant to enhancing the mission effectiveness of military personnel and the supporting platforms, systems, components, or materials proposed to be acquired or developed by the Department of Defense, or to improvement of platforms, systems, components, or materials in use by the armed forces.
