The purpose of this acquisition is to maintain the function of two Fludigm C1 Systems so that they can be used to prepare high-quality single-cell samples. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1) and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. The North American Industry Classification System code is 334516 and the business size standard is 1000 employees. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm fixed price type contract with a base plus three option periods. It has been determined there are no opportunities to acquire green products or services for this procurement. The single-cell genomics is one of the cutting-edge technologies developed in 2015, and it has generated lots of research interests within NIH, as well as the research community worldwide. We have utilized this new technology to improve and facilitate our current and future projects and clinical trials. Specifically, we have used single-cell RNAseq data to identify T cell receptor sequences, which will be utilized for highly-personalized T cell therapy targeting mutated antigens in cancer patients. We have also used single-cell RNAseq data to understand T cell biology at the single-cell level in our clinical trials. The results will help us further improve our T-cell based immunotherapies in cancer patients. Lastly, we have utilized single-cell whole-exome sequencing data to identify mutations in circulating tumor cells, and to evaluate tumor heterogeneity in our tumor samples from our clinical trials. Therefore, these two instruments are essential for our current and ongoing research projects. This notice is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party, especially small businesses, believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
