- Questions and Government Answers #1 1) The trailer tires will not rate for that axle. We would need to go with our std 205/75 r 15 and a braking axle to rate for a true 3500# GVWR. Would this be acceptable? Yes, this is acceptable. 2) A-Frame jacks cannot be used in conjunction with a pintle ring. Our recommendation would be a 7k drop leg setback style jack. Yes, this is acceptable. 3) The requested tongue mounted box size would inhibit the turning radius. Our std Box is 42" x 16" and still we recommend a 12" tongue extension to allow proper turning clearances. Would you accept this size? Yes, that is acceptable. Did not realize overall size of toolbox in relation to tongue size. 4) Cipher style locks are not made for 1" Trailer doors, only for 1-3/8" thick home or commercial style slabs. We have a Vice Lock upgrade available but it does use a key, would this be acceptable? Cipher locks are preferred and is what is installed on the trailers currently in use. 5) Our closest window match for trailers 1) & 4) would be a 36w 26 tall horizontal crank out style, would this be acceptable? I do not know which trailers "1 and 4" are. If they are referring to the 3'x3' non opening windows, then those would not be acceptable. If they are referencing the 6'x4' with center opening pane, then the suggested windows are not acceptable. 6) What countertop surface material are you looking for? Plastic laminate, aluminum, or raw plywood. Countertops will be laminate covered. 7) Window style AC units for homes are not suitable for use in a trailer wall. Trailer walls are 1" thick tube steel, house walls are typically 4-1/2" thick minimum. Wall mount ac units are not made to withstand the rigors of road use either. They are not designed with vibration and shock resistant components that are necessary for use in a trailer. The only AC we would quote and warranty would be a roof mounted 15,000 BTU Unit. Is this acceptable? Trailers will not be towed over open road and be used as mobile offices. Current trailers have a reinforced frame for holding window mount style AC units in trailer walls. Window mount units are required because they can be replaced after failure. Large window style AC units hold up to round the clock operations compared to roof mount units in our experience. 8) What size pegboard holes are you looking for? There are 2 options---1/8" hole diameter and ¼" hole diameter. Pegboard would be 1/8" hole diameter. 9) Std length on a 50 amp RV style power cord is 25ft, is this acceptable? No, power cord needs to be removable from trailer when not in use and stowed in storage box on tongue of trailer. See requirements sections 1.19 and 1.20.
