Description
This project is being performed on the Lochsa-Powell Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests in collaboration with the Nez Perce Tribe Watershed program. Two corrugated steel pipes shall be removed and replaced with new structural plate arch culverts that are characterized as deep fill. The two project sites may be accessed via Smith Creek Road, FS Road 101. West Fork Deadman Creek Culvert - FS Road 5541 at Milepost 3.30: Work consists of the removal of existing 56" culvert and replacing with a new 16' span x 7'-1" Rise, Structural Plate Arch. Work includes culvert removal and disposal of existing culvert, structure excavation, roadway embankment, backfilling, compacting, furnishing and installation of new structural plate arch culvert on precast footing, riprap, and hauling and placing crushed aggregate surfacing, and all other work necessary to complete the project as required by the contract, plans, and specifications. To access the project site from Kooskia, ID travel East on Highway 12 for 15.5 miles to the junction of Highway 12 and Smith Creek Road, FS Road 101. Turn north on Road 101 and travel for 6.3 miles to the junction with FS Road 418. Turn West on Road 418 and travel for 1.13 miles to the beginning of project. There is also an alternate route to the project over FS Road 500. Pete King Creek Culvert - FS Road 418 at milepost 1.13: Work consists of the removal of existing 48" culvert and replacing with a new 15' span x 5'-8" Rise, Structural Plate Arch. Work includes culvert removal and disposal of existing culvert, structure excavation, roadway embankment, backfilling, compacting, furnishing and installation of new structural plate arch culvert on precast footing, riprap, and hauling and placing crushed aggregate surfacing, and all other work necessary to complete the project as required by the contract, plans, and specifications. To access the project site from Kooskia, ID travel East on Highway 12 for 15.5 miles to the junction of Highway 12 and Smith Creek Road, FS Road 101. Turn north on Road 101 and travel for 27 miles to the junction with FS Road 483. Turn East on Road 483 and travel for 2.1 miles to the junction with FS Road 5541. Turn south and travel 3.3 miles to the beginning of project. It is estimated that construction work on the project will begin June 26, 2017; tentative completion deadline is September 15, 2017. Equipment operation in-stream is prohibited prior to July 15th. The Government intends on making one contract award from this solicitation. The solicitation and all attachments shall be posted to FBO in March. The Government's construction estimate is between $250,000 - $500,000. A formal pre-bid tour is not planned. Original bid bonds are required for 20% of the offered value. The acquisition has been set-aside for HUBzone certified small businesses.
