- Description
- The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems (NLETS), Inc., Phoenix AZ, for access to their computerized, high speed message switching system. DOJ uses require access to NLETS to exchange free form criminal justice and criminal justice related information with state and local criminal justice agencies, state motor vehicle departments or other state agencies providing routine vehicle registration or driver's license information. Access is currently being provided to over 5,000 terminals nationwide, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. No solicitation document exists. Interested parties must respond with a written statement of capability that convincingly demonstrates that they possess extensive experience with providing a high speed message switching system. Responses received as a result of this notice of intent shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will not be considered as either proposals or bids, and cost or pricing data is not solicited. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon written responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The anticipated period of performance under any resultant contract will be one year from the date of award with four (4) one-year option periods to extend the term of the contract.
