- This is a synopsis only for subscription an Online cross-searchable medication, toxicology, and patient education database for all VISN 12 staff. It is estimated the Solicitation will be made available on or around February 24, 2017. This date is estimated, and the Solicitation release date may be earlier or later than Ferbuary 24, 2017. Monitor FBO.gov for release of the solicitation. Description of services required: VISN 12 requires online access to a product that shall provide, via one interface and one search platform, access to unbiased and peer reviewed comprehensive databases. Databases shall provide drug information, dosing and therapeutic tools, and drug identification relevant to VISN 12 staff to assist them in providing safe and effective care to Veterans. Databases shall be updated daily to reflect changes in information and evidence based practices. This shall include: Comprehensive medication monographs including but not limited to Information regarding FDA and non-FDA approved indications (referred to as off label use with primary literature references listed) Summaries of clinically relevant primary literature within the resource (more than just a reference to the source) Side-by-side comparative drug evaluations and comparative efficacy evaluations Adverse drug reactions References to abstracts, tertiary electronic sources, and/or full text articles Pharmacokinetic information Monitoring parameters Administration/storage information Pregnancy/lactation information Pharmaceutical product identification for both U.S. and foreign countries Includes pill identifiers and pictures Capsules/tablets that should not be crushed guide Comprehensive IV compatibility tools including IV Y-site, IV admixture, IV syringe compatibility (i.e., IV medications and solutions such as lactated ringer) IV administration guidelines for medications- including rate of administration Treatment of IV extravasation- chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy medications Treatment of phlebitis associated with IV medications Toxicology/poison control management/overdose signs/symptoms Patient education materials Drug interaction tools, dietary interactions Medication dosage and laboratory calculators Material Safety Data Sheets Teratogenic, Pregnancy, Fertility and Lactation Medications Database Ability to search across all databases contained within the resource with one search term. Natural medicine database Customer service shall be available 24/7 via phone, email, and/or internet to troubleshoot website/connectivity issues. The contractor shall provide online/web-based training tutorials which shall be available to all users for the duration of the contract. At the onset of the contract, the contractor shall provide a one time, on-site training at each VISN 12 facility (includes hospital facilities and all CBOCs), upon request of the location (some locations may or may not choose to utilize the on-site training).
