- Description
- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Government plans to award a three (3) year, Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Requirements Contract to DRS Test & Energy Management (DRS- TEM) for the ABV Embedded Diagnostics (ED) Kit. The ED Kit integrates diagnostic capability into the ABV providing the ability to identify and fault isolate failures while minimizing the need for carry-on test equipment. This ED Kit will bring the ABV vehicle to the configuration of Embedded Diagnostics (ED) now used on the M1A1 AIM tanks, which have been fielded since fiscal year 2000. The ABV uses the M1A1 chassis. The ED Kit system eliminates STE-M1 (Simplified Test Equipment). DRS-TEM is the designer, developer, and manufacturer of the Embedded Diagnostics system. DRS-TEM is the only known contractor who has the technical expertise, production facility, configuration control, and overall management capability to provide this kit. To maximize subcontracting opportunities, DRS-TEM will be directed contractually to compete work at principal subcontractor and lower tier vendor levels in support of Government competition objectives. Disclaimer: This is a sources sought notice and is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the information contained in this posting or information received as a result of this posting. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which the agency will consider.
