- Description
- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Government plans to award a three (3) year, Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Requirements Contract to DRS Sensors and Targeting Systems (DRS-STS) for the Integrated Vision System (IVS). The IVS is an integral part of the ABV. The ABV is based on the M1A1 tank chassis and provides deliberate in-stride breaching capability to the assault force of the Army Heavy Brigade Combat Team (HBCT) and Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF). The ABV consists of an M1A1 hull with a specially designed and fabricated turret which has two Mine Clearing Line Charges (MICLIC) mounted on a Linear Demolition Charge System (LDCS). The ABV also has: 1) a High Lift Adapter (HLA) mounted on the front of the hull which allows the Full Width Mine Plow (FWMP) and Combat Dozer Blade (CDB) to be rapidly interchanged by a crew of two Soldiers; 2) a Lane Marking System (LMS); and, 3) an IVS allowing the crew to view 360 degrees day or night in various weather and combat environments. The Integrated Vision System is comprised of the following subsystems: i. One (1) Modified 3-Sensor GS207 Gimbal (Laser Range Finder, IC2 Night Vision and Infrared) ii. One (1) Driver's Vision Enhancement (DVE) System iii. Two (2) Infrared DVE sensors iv. Five (5) Day TV cameras v. One (1) Commander Control Panel vi. One (1) Commander Display Module All of the above subsystems include associated mounting hardware, cables, and fittings necessary to fully install and operate the subsystem. DRS-STS is the designer and developer of the IVS and is the only known manufacturer who has the expertise to continue producing it. To maximize subcontracting opportunities, DRS STS will be directed contractually to compete work at principal subcontractor and lower tier vendor levels in support of Government competition objectives. Disclaimer: This is a sources sought notice and is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the information contained in this posting or information received as a result of this posting. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which the agency will consider.
