Description

Exhibit 1 - Technical requirements for Oxidizer Tank and Helium Tank THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS RFI IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF POTENTIAL QUALIFIED SOURCES AND THEIR SIZE CLASSIFICATIONS (SMALL, SMALL DISADVANTAGED, WOMEN-OWNED, VETERAN-OWNED, SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED, HUBZONE OR LARGE BUSINESS) RELATIVE TO THE NAICS CODE. RESPONSES TO THIS RFI WILL BE USED BY JPL TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. BACKGROUND The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is an operating division of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), staffed with Caltech employees, and is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) under the sponsorship of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). As a member of the NASA family JPL is recognized as the agency's only FFRDC. JPL is interested in a commercial single board computer for the Next Generation Avionics Testbed (NGAT). One fundamental requirement is that the computer has a space flight-qualified version. However, the currently required board for use in the NGAT would be a prototype (or breadboard) version of the flight computer that is functionally equivalent although not suitable for environmental testing. The purpose of the RFI is to determine potential suppliers capable of meeting JPL's technical requirements for a composite oxidizer tank and helium tank with aluminum liners as noted in Exhibit 1. JPL would like to identify if the supplier has similar tanks (COTS) to those described in Exhibit 1, including a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM). JPL requests a ROM for a new tank per the description in Exhibit 1. REQUIREMENTS/STATEMENT OF CAPABILITIES Please submit your expression of interest and any application information (i.e., technical, ROM, schedule, etc.) no later than the response due date.
