- Please note this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The Embassy of the United States in Harare, Zimbabwe will launch the solicitation on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website when it is available. The requirement is for customized health insurance service to the employees of the U.S. Embassy in Harare, Zimbabwe. The estimated number of employees is 235 with approximatively 679 eligible dependents. Please note that these are only estimated quantities. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the lowest priced technically acceptable offeror who is a responsible contractor. The Government may award the contract based on the initial offer without discussion. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price with economic adjustment type contract. The Government is planning a pre-quotation conference and the date for this conference will be in the solicitation. The anticipated performance is for one base period of twelve months and four one-year option periods, at the option of the Government. Prospective offerors must be able to comply with all legal and regulatory requirements for operating in Zimbabwe. NOTE : Per Section 72 of the Insurance Act [Chapter 24:07], Zimbabwe only insurance firms legally registered in Zimbabwe can bid on this solicitation. Pursuant to FAR 5.207 contractors interested in participating are required to register in www.sam.gov
