- Solicitation: N68335-17-R-0140 Title: UAV Common Automatic Recovery System (UCARS) Airborne Subsystem Parts & Assemblies and AN/SPN-46 Components NAICS Code: 334511 Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing FSC Code: 5895 Miscellaneous Communication Equipment Response date - 7 days Primary Point of Contact: Evanuel Hairston evanuel.hairston@navy.mil Phone: 732-323-2094 Fax: 732-323-7301 This Sources Sought/Request For Information notice is being posted to satisfy the requirement of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 206-302-1(d). Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Air Traffic Control & Landing Systems, St. Inigoes, Maryland, has a requirement for support for Precision Approach Landing Systems (PALS) components and assemblies. This support includes supplies and services associated with the fabrication and/or modification of existing systems/components, as well as repair tear down and evaluation, and/or replacement of existing systems/components. Applicable systems are the AN/SPN-46 Automatic Carrier Landing System components, the AN/SPN-46(V) Radar Doppler Video Processor, the AN/SPN-46(V) Radar Control Group Unit 19 Upgrade, the AN/SPN-46 Receiver, Transmitter and Link 4A, the AN/APN-245 Radio Beacon Sets, UAV Common Automatic Recovery System and the AN/SPN-35C Precision Approach Radar components and Receiver and Radar Processor Controller. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS AND NO COMPETITIVE SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. GENERAL INFORMATION: Sierra Nevada Corporation (CAGE 8X691) is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the applicable systems, and is the only known qualified, responsible source that possesses the necessary knowledge, experience, and technical data required to fulfill the requirements specified. However, companies with capabilities to meet our requirement are requested to provide a response. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. Respondents will not be notified of the result of the review. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future associated RFP that may be issued. Information provided in no way binds the government to solicit or award a contract. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Sierra Nevada Corporation (CAGE 8X691) for the procurement of Firescout UAV Common Automatic Recovery System Airborne Subsystems Parts & Assemblies and AN/SPN-46 Components. These items are used to support the PALS to provide precision landing information to air traffic controllers and pilots during final approach while landing aircraft aboard aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships. The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 USC 3204 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1. A determination by the Government, not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
