- **PLEASE NOTE UPDATED DUE DATE OF 10 MAR 2017 at 1:00 PM MST** QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS •1. What is the installation building on Holloman AFB? •a. Answer: The compressor will be installed in building 1265. •2. Does the system need to be air cooled or water cooled? •a. Answer: Air cooled. •3. Can you clarify the noise requirements? •a. Answer: The specifications is for quiet operation which is defined as a base 70dB +/- 3dB at one (1) meter. •4. How strict are the size requirements? •a. Answer: Based on the configuration of current equipment and structures, the size of the proposed compressor cannot exceed the specified dimensions. •5. Do you have a part number? •a. Answer: No we do not have a part number. •6. Location of installation of the new unit ( Indoors/Outdoors?, Under roof if outdoors?) •a. Answer: Outdoor with overhang •7. Dew point required for the outlet air. ISO 8573-1 Class 0 mentioned in the solicitation is presumed to be in reference to the oil content. •a. Answer: Yes, ISO 8573-1 Class 0 does have to do with oil contamination. •8. The water dew point required will decide the scope (whether a dryer is included or not) and the type of dryer, if included. •a. Answer: No dryer required. Clean air system already has (1) desiccant and (2) refrigerant dryers post compressor. •9. Minimum ambient temperature/minimum temperature of cooling and process air for the compressor. This will decide if Winterization/Freeze protection is required for the condensate drains. •a. Answer: 32 degrees Fahrenheit. •10. Is foundation/pad available for installation of the unit? Are anchor bolts acceptable for installation? •a. Answer: Concrete pad and anchor bolts are acceptable. •11. Width and Height of Door/access size if the unit is located indoors. •a. Answer: Outdoors and accessible from all sides. •12. Is the installation location accessible by a forklift truck? •a. Answer: Yes •13. Location and description of the nearest power source for equipment hook up. (Voltage/Phase/Amp rating). •a. Answer: Junction box approx. 18 inches away from current compressor. 460V 3 Phase 75 Amp •14. Outlet connection: Is hook up to existing pipe work included in the scope? If yes, what is the distance to the header and type of connection required? •a. Answer: Approx. 1' and threading into 1.5" female NPT valve. •15. Drain termination details. Is the condensate drain to be piped off or drained locally? If piped off, what is the length of piping required? •a. Answer: Drained locally •16. Will this be replacing an existing unit or will this be a new installation? •a. This will be replacing an existing unit. •17. Will the customer be placing the unit in its location or should that be part of the install scope? If it should be a part of the scope, do they have a forklift we can use or should we include a forklift rental in our proposal? •a. Removing and disposing the old unit and installing the new unit will be part of the install scope. Forklift will not be provided to perform install. •18. What is the approximate total feet of piping needed? •a. Our inlet is approx. 3' from exterior wall. Total pipe need will depend on where the outlet is on compressor. •19. Should we include electrical work in the scope? If this is a new installation and we will be doing the electrical work, can they provide information on their power supply and how far it is from where the unit will be going? •a. Our power is 460/3/60. Junction box is approx. 18" from current compressor. •20. Will this unit be indoors? •a. Unit will be outdoor on a concrete pad. •21. Does the customer have a preference on pipe material? •a. Copper. •22. Other than piping and electrical, are there any other considerations that need to be made for the installation (ie. Ductwork or drain lines)? •a. If exhaust ductwork is on top of unit, it will need to clear our overhang. If it will not clear, they may have to run ductwork through overhang. A local drain off the pad beside the unit will be fine (approx. 5') •23. What will the piping be tying into? A dryer, filter, piece of production equipment, or a header? If it's a header, what is the size of the header and how high up is it? •a. The new compressor will tie into a 1.5" female NPT shutoff valve approx. 12" off the pad. •24. Do you have any pictures of the room where the unit will be installed? •a. Please email the Contracting Officer for a current photo of the existing unit and site. FBO is not allowing a post. •25. Are there any safety trainings or orientations that may take up time on site? If so, approximately how much time will these take? •a. Not to my knowledge.
