- Primary Source Verification Form (Verification of Degree from School of Medicine) Regional Medical Officer Application Form Regional Medical Officer Statement of Work (SOW) Peace Corps Regional Medical Officer (RMO) Peace Corps (PC) seeks licensed physician to serve as Peace Corps Regional Medical Officer (RMO) in Bangkok, Thailand. Anticipated start date would be approximately June 2017 (negotiable), once all pre-award requirements have been met. RMOs are paid contractors who provide support to Peace Corps Medical Officers (PCMOs) within the sub-region and liaise with the Office of Health Services at Peace Corps Headquarters in Washington, DC. See attached Statement of Work for complete description of responsibilities. Working Conditions: The anticipated Personal Services Contract (PSC) will be for a one-year period with up to three (3) or four (4) option years, exercisable based on satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and continued need. The work schedule will be on a full-time basis, with after-hours, weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities. The work schedule will require flexibility and frequent travel to countries within the sub-region. Compensation and Benefits: Pre-tax compensation will be negotiated within the appropriate range for the position at the discretion of the Peace Corps Contracting Officer. Items of consideration may include salary history and experience. Benefits will be offered for this position in accordance with guidance provided by Peace Corps' Office of Acquisition and Contract Management. Relocation costs will be covered by Peace Corps. Benefits may include the following, depending on citizenship and contract type: *Medical emergency evacuation insurance or United States Embassy health unit access *Airfare to and from country for RMO and authorized dependents *Vacation leave *Home leave *Sick leave *Housing/Utilities *Shipment of household affects *Education allowance (US Citizens only) Required Qualifications: * Peace Corps requires that RMO applicants have and maintain a current, active MD license. All practitioners must maintain their national certifications during the entire contract period. * Minimum five years recent, relevant primary care experience. * Current or recent experience serving as a Peace Corps Medical Officer (PCMO) or in a role comparable to a PCMO in an overseas environment. (A minimum of five years experience is required.) * Willing to travel extensively within a sub region. * English fluency and comprehension. * No unfavorable actions related to medical malpractice, state license, clinical privileges, etc. in National Practitioner Data Bank if licensed in the United States. * A background security investigation will be required. The contract award will be subject to the contractor's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication prior to award. Any security certificate issued must be maintained during the entire contract period. * A worldwide medical clearance may be required. The contract award may be subject to the contractor receiving adequate medical evaluation and clearance for overseas assignments worldwide. Any health status determination made and/or medical clearance issued must be maintained during the entire contract period. * Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) before being awarded a Federal Government contract. Registration can be accomplished at www.sam.gov. Peace Corps does not accept responsibility for technical issues or glitches that cause application materials to be received past the deadline. * Cover letter articulating motivation for applying for RMO position * Current resume * Copy of most recent Performance Evaluation * Application form (Form attached) * Three letters of reference written within the last two years. At least two of the references must be from clinical colleagues. * Copies of current professional licenses and certifications * Primary source verification of professional school attended submitted directly from the issuing institution. (Form attached). If Peace Corps has received the verification from a previous application, resubmission is not necessary. Competitive Evaluation of Applicants will be Based on the Following Criteria: Peace Corps requires that RMO applicants have and maintain a current, active MD license. All practitioners must maintain their national certifications during the entire contract period. * Minimum five years recent, relevant primary care experience. * Ability to travel to countries within the sub region frequently for duration of up to two weeks. * A minimum of five years' recent experience serving as a Peace Corps Medical Officer (PCMO) or in a role comparable to a PCMO in an overseas environment. * Experience managing and administering health care clinics, out-patient programs, and personnel. * Professional comportment and demeanor, including English fluency and comprehension.
