- This project consists of performing routine dam maintenance on the following Forest Service dams n the Tell City Ranger District of the Hoosier National Forest in Perry and Crawford Counties, Indiana: Perry County - German Ridge Lake, Saddle Lake, Tipsaw Lake, Celina Lake, Indian Lake, and Branchville Pond. Crawford County - U38 Lake Routine dam maintenance work consists of mowing the dams, spillways, and open areas below the dams, removal of logs and debris, cutting of briers, grass, and shrubs by hand or mechanical means. Work will also include removing fallen trees along the edge of the mowed areas, removal of trash, logs, and other debris from the face of the dams, spillways, associated mowed areas, and inlet and outlet structures. Constructed fire rings, within the maintenance area, made from rocks or other materials shall be disassembled with rocks placed back on riprapped areas. Signs, benches, fences, Early Warning Systems and other markers shall be protected and vegetation around them cut by hand. Mowing of vegetation shall be done by mechanical means or, in areas inaccessible by mechanical equipment, by hand. The resulting contract will include a base year and four one year options. Work shall occur from May through September each year. Contractors must be registered in www.sam.gov in order to submit an offer. Registering in SAM and obtaining a DUNS number are free of charge. This solicitation is a 100% small business set aside. All solicitation materials will be uploaded to this site on or around March 14, 2017. This will include the specifications, mowing schedule, maps and all other documentation necessary to submit an offer.
