- Agency: Department of the Army Office: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Location: USACE District, Portland Classification Code: 47 - Pipe, Tubing, Hose & Fittings NAICS Code: 331420- Copper Rolling, Drawing, Extruding, and Alloying Size: 1,000 Employees Solicitation Number: W9127N-17-R-0062 Notice Type: Pre-Solicitation Synopsis: This is a Pre-Solicitation notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 "Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions." The US Army Corp of Engineers, Portland District, CENWP-CT-S, Portland Oregon 97204 intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the procurement four (4) refurbished heat exchanger sets with documentation of pressure tests. The heat exchangers are used to cool oil in a hydroelectric turbine generator thrust bearing. River water runs through the tubes, which are immersed in a bath of oil. Each cooler is comprised of two semi-circular halves that are mirror images of each other. Each half is constructed of a frame supporting 48 finned tubes with a supply/discharge manifold on one end and a return header on the other end. Tubing connections are accomplished by rolling each tube end into a brass tube sheet. This solicitation will be a total small business set-aside under NAICS 331420 with a size standard of 1,000 employees. The Government anticipates awarding One (1) Firm-Fixed-Price contract.
