Description
Experience Questionnaire Drawings Specifications AG0356S160028 Solicitation Z- Klatt Dam Decommissioning on the Madiosn Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest Project Location: Klatt Dam (also known as Kelly Reservoir) is located in the Wall Creek drainage in the Gravelly Range Mountains approximately 27 air miles south of Ennis, MT; longitude 111d 45.920' W, latitude 44d 57.774' N; T10S, R1W, S18. Scope of Contract: This project is to decommission the Klatt Dam (also known as Kelly Reservoir). The dam is an earthen dam located in the Gravelly Range Mountains. The dam has been abandoned since 1982. The dam has a height of 21 feet and has an 18-inch diameter CMP outlet pipe 134 feet in length. The breach will create a notch in the dam embankment the full height of the dam. In the tentative design, the bottom of the notch will be at the invert of the outlet pipe and will create a 12 foot wide channel. The side slopes of the channel will be at a 2 H: 1 V slope. Excavated material would be disposed by spreading on-site adjacent to the dam. Erosion control measures and disposal of the CMP outlet pipe will be included in the contract. There is currently natural dead pool storage upstream of the dam. This natural impoundment will be maintained. On-site rock will be placed, as necessary, to prevent head cutting of the new channel. Prebid Tour: No tour is scheduled, however, Prospective Offerors are strongly encouraged to inspect the project site to satisfy themselves regarding conditions that may affect the cost of contract performance and access. Construction Magnitude: 25,000-$100,000 Period of Performance: It is anticipated that the period of performance will be between July 15 and September 1, 2017.
