- BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION AND APPROVAL The FCC currently uses the AudioEye toolkit (including the Ally toolbar and the Digital Accessibility Platform) on targeted web applications to provide an enhanced accessibility experience for users. FCC IT would like to expand our use of the toolkit to the rest of the IT enterprise, because we have found that the FCC has a significant accessibility problem with its web content and a development challenge with its newer technology platforms. Enabling the IT leadership to actively monitor the accessibility posture across FCCs web content and new applications, and giving developers (both traditional and platform-based) the appropriate tools to identify, address, and remediate accessibility issues within the development cycle of new systems will be a major benefit to the commission. In order for the FCC to provide support to the broadest user community possible, applications must be fully 508 compliant, since as described above, user comments and submissions are created by the general public enforcing 508 compliance is not possible. And converting the millions of potential public submissions to a 508 compliant format is a cost prohibitive undertaking.
