- Description
- Enclosure 1 RFI The Enhanced Small Arms Protective Insert (ESAPI) is currently being procured through the Defense Logistics Agency. When placed in the Improved Modular Tactical Vest or the Plate Carrier, the ESAPI is designed to provide ballistic protection against specific ammunition threats. ESAPIs range in size from extra small (XS) to extra large (XL), with three intermediate sizes (small (SM), medium (MD), and large (LG)). Over time, the spall cover of the ESAPI can separate due to normal wear and tear. If not corrected, this has the potential to compromise the ballistic integrity of the plate rendering it unserviceable. MARCORSYSCOM, Product Manager, Infantry Combat Equipment (PdM ICE) is conducting market research to identify potential sources for obtaining spall cover repair patches. Additionally, the Government requests vendors to complete and provide Enclosure (1), Assertion of Commerciality, so the Government may assess the commerciality and development status of the capability.
