Description
Solicitation Number: 4475124 Notice Type: Notice of Intent to Sole Source Title: Veritas Consulting Services for the Hosting & Storage Service Area Description: The National Institute of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine (NLM), intends to award a sole source purchase order for the Center of Technology (CIT) to Veritas, 500 E Middlefield Rd, Mountain View, CA, 94043, for veritas on-site consulting services. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 541519-Other Computer Related Services. Veritas Technologies LLC is the only responsible source known to provide the consulting services needed. It is NLM's intent that the proposed action may be awarded on a sole source basis to Veritas Technology under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Contractor Objectives and Tasks: Projects for the Consulting Services engineer to assist with include but are not limited to: • Configuration and set up of servers, storage and software • Upgrade and patching of software • Documentation of current environment and standard operating procedures • Validate current configured Veritas environments • Other Veritas specific tasks as assigned Project Effort • Consulting Services performed on-site by the Engineer will be executed during normal business hours • Consulting Services will be discussed in conjunction with designated NIH staff before making production system changes • A resource will be assigned as the Consulting Services Architect for the project. A resource will be assigned to perform director level interviews and assessments of departmental requirements. This will be the first couple of weeks of the project. The Consulting Services will be reassessed every 2 weeks via a recurring meeting to see where we are with this first phase of the project. • The Engineer will be provided all necessary network and system access to the Acronis environment. • The NIH staff will notify the vendor five (5) business days in advance of any scheduling conflicts or changes that may come up. • Work will commence upon an award made through the National Library of Medicine Contracting Office. Sole Source Justification In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible, Veritas Technology is the only organization who can provide the services needed. This is not a solicitation, nor is a solicitation available. However, all interested organizations may submit their capability statements and qualifications which will be considered by NLM. Responses must be in writing and must be submitted electronically to Damian Hurge, Contract Officer at hurgeda@mail.nih.gov by 4:00 PM EST on, March 09, 2017. Proposals must include pricing information. No late responses will be accepted.
