Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs will be soliciting for vendors that are capable, willing, certified to provide temporary transitional housing for Homeless for the Salem VA Medical Center (VAMC). This could include veteran with on-going mental illness, depression, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and/or substance dependencies. The Contractors shall be required to provide housing, to include, but not necessarily limited to, beds, restroom, bath, and kitchen facilities, and related furnishings. Adequate security measures, e.g., bars on windows and doors and area fenced, in order to provide optimum safety for residents. Provide food for two balanced meals daily and snacks daily to each shelter resident. The Contractor shall provide personal hygiene items, first aid supplies, and storage as needed. The facility shall be located within a 25 mile radius of the VA Medical Center at 1970 Roanoke Blvd. Salem, VA. A Request for Quote will be issued on or about March 9, 2017. The period of performance is May 1, 2017 through April 30, 2018 with two(2) one (1) year renewal options that can be exercised by the Government. This is an unrestricted requirement (no set-asides). To be eligible for award, contractors must be registered in the SAM database at http://www.sam.gov. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 62322; size standard $15.0 Million and the Product Service (PSC) Code is G099.
