- Description
- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT FOR MARKET RESEARCH ONLY: I am doing Market Research, and have received a requirement for a Data Acquisition system (DAS) that converts analog waveforms into digital values for computer analysis. This will be used to capute voltage time-history from a fully adjustable Hi8/Digital8 video tape player helical scan head drum as it spins against a fragment of crash-damaged tape. The concept is to capture, in teh digital domain, the magnetic pattern encoded on the tape and, with knowledge of the NTSC and Digital 8 encoding formats, reconstruct the audio and video content previously recorded to the tape. A DAS that compiles with the following requiremets will be sufficient to function as a key component of a "Crash-Damaged Hi8/Digital8 Tape Recovery System." 1. NUMBER OF INPUT CHANNELS: A minimum of 1 (single input) 2. ANALOG BANDWIDTH: At least 1.5GHz (requires a minimum of 3Gs (gigasamples) per second for pure phase-locked Nyquist compliance; practical solution will require more than 3Gs/sec) 3. RESOLUTION: 72dB (power) or more below full scale (Analog to Digital conversion with at least 12 bits of resolution) 4. SELECTABLE FULL-SCALE INPUT VOLTAGE RANGE: At a minimum, encompassing +/-0.1V TO +/-3.0V with base 2 (e.g. 1/2/4/8) or base "2ish" (1/2/5/10) step increments 5. BUFFER LENGTH: At least 0.5sec of samples at rate complying with requirement (2) above 6. INPUT IMPEDANCE: As high as possible; no less than 50 ohms 7. SOFTWARE INTERFACE: Compatible with Mathworks Matlab 8. HARDWARE INTERFACE: External (USB 3.0) or internal (PCIe), with an external solution preferred
