Description
This is a Market Survey to locate sources for the acquisition of: 1. Altitude and Reference Unit (AHRU), CN-1716A/A, NSN: 6605-15-012-8777, P/N 765100-200. 2. Control Unit (CU), C-12712A/A, 6605-15-012-8776, P/N 765200-200. 3. Installation Kit, MK-3000/A, NSN 5895-01-509-6012, P/N 757150-5. The AHRU is a self-contained strap-down, inertial reference set that provide pitch, roll, and magnetic heading, angular rate and body acceleration information to the flight instruments on the UH-60A/L Black Hawk helicopter. The AHRU senses pitch (±82°), roll (360°) and heading (360°), and transmits all altitude information in synchro format. Altitude information shall also be available in both digital and analog form. The CU provides the command and control of the AHRU and the interface with the avionics suite. The operation of the AHRU shall be such that it shall function in a magnetically slaved (Slaved) mode, a latitude-corrected free directional gyro (Free) mode and a self-contained compass calibration (CAL) mode. The AHRU shall consist of one line replaceable unit (LRU) designed to operate in rotary wing aircraft to provide gyro stabilized roll, pitch, heading, angular rate and reference information. The Installation Kit, which consist of interface adapter cable assemblies and plate mounting assembly provides the signal interface between the AHRU/CU and the vehicle avionic systems. These items were produced sole source by Northrop Grumman Italia (NGI), Via Pontina km 27,800, 00040 Pomezia, Italy, CAGE A3379. Items contain hardware and software proprietary to NGI. Detailed technical data for these units are not available from the Army, except for performance specification. Any sources capable of producing these items must indicate so, by writing to Commander, USACERDEC, ATTN: RDER-PRA-AB, Building 6007, 3rd Floor, F3-140-90, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005. Companies must demonstrate that they had past experience of producing and/or repairing these systems or systems that deliver the same form, fit, and function. The lead-time requirement for producing these items is 12 months for CN-1716A/A and 6 months for C-12712A/A and MK-3000/A from the Date of the Contract. The response must demonstrate intimate knowledge of the systems including areas such as system design, production capability, test and fault isolation, repair and product acceptance processes, projected parts/materials usage and the necessary special test equipment. Potential suppliers are required to warrant that the item will satisfactorily perform when used for the purpose intended by the Army. If so, please elaborate on the Program and Assessment tool(s). 8) Describe your company's experience in identifying the alternatives for the unavailability of obsolete materials or components to mitigate obsolescence issues. 9) Discuss your company's capability in meeting US Government contracting delivery requirements. 10) Do you have product/s or keep products in stock? This Request for Information (RFI) is for planning and market research purposes only, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. The information gathered from this announcement will be used to determine if responsible sources exist, and to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or set aside for Small Business. Furthermore, the Government will use the information, in part, to determine the best acquisition strategy for a potential procurement action and to assist in making future acquisition strategy decisions. This is NOT a Request for Quote or Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this RFI.
