Amendment A00001 Continuation Page Questions and Answers for Solicitation VA786-17-R-0193 Question1: Is this project eligible for bid by any contractor or ONLY 100% veteran disabled companies? Answer: The requirement is set aside for Services Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Question 2: The SF1442 indicates that the bid bond requirement is 10%, typically the bid bond is required at 20%. Could you please clarify? Answer: The bid bond is 10% as stated. Question 3: The Statement of Work, indicates that the new storm piping would be a minimum of 8 schedule 80pvc. Schedule 80 pipe will be very expensive and exceeds typical design criteria for this type of application. Would it be acceptable to use HDPE smooth flow or even schedule 40? Answer: Schedule 80 is required due to the uncertainty of how much cover the new piping will have. Question 4: Details 4 and 5 on drawing 912-NRM17-17-002 show the existing culvert sections that need removed and replaced. The description of work includes removal of Tree roots as necessary to provide gravity drainage. Will removal of roots be allowed? Answer: Yes Question 5: The SF1442 under block 10, includes a performance period of 120days, however block 11 indicates 180days. Please clarify. Answer: Performance period is 180 days.
