Work is divided into phases as follows: Phase 1 - The limits of construction are from Station 2569+00 to Station 2576+00. Cutoff wall construction is from Station 2570+00 to Station 2575+00 (Demonstration Section, approximately 500 feet in length); Phase 2 - The limits of construction are from Station 2574+00 to Station 2698+00 and Station 2723+00 to Station 2908+00. Cutoff wall construction is from Station 2575+00 to Station 2697+00 and Station 2724+00 to Station 2907+00; Phase 3 - The limits of construction are from Station 2696+00 to Station 2725+00. Cutoff wall construction is from Station 2697+00 to Station 2724+00. Project features include construction of a temporary earthen work platform, installation of a partial penetrating cutoff wall, performance testing requirements, and site restoration. The draft period of performance for this procurement is a total of 1,398 calendar days from notice to proceed. The follow is a breakdown of the draft period of performance for each phase: Phase 1 - 217 Calendar Days Phase 2 - 930 Calendar Days Phase 3 - 121 Calendar Days Phase 4 - 130 Calendar Days Total - 1,398 Calendar Days from Notice to Proceed KI-1 and KI-2 (Draft Information) The work includes in-place abandonment and removal of the existing Herbert Hoover Dike Culverts KI-1 and KI-2, respectively, and the construction of new water control structures S-266 and S-265 at the respective adjacent or existing locations. The structures will include cast-in-place reinforced concrete foundations, headwalls, and box culverts. Combination flap/slide gates will be installed at the lakeside headwall of each structure and dual leaf gates on the landside headwall of S-266. S-266 will be constructed adjacent to (north of) the existing KI-1 structure, and will only require installation of an earthen cofferdam on the lakeside in order to dewater the construction site. The existing canal at KI-1 will be back filled and the structure will be abandoned in place upon completion of S-266. S-266 will consist of two (2) 7-foot by 7-foot culverts with approximate barrel lengths of 100 feet. Demolition/reconstruction efforts for S-265 will require installation of earthen cofferdams on both lakeside and landside in order to dewater the demolition/construction site. S-265 will consist of one (1) 6-foot by 6-foot culvert with approximate barrel length of 100 feet. At the completion of the embankment reconstruction at each structure, the crest elevation shall be as shown on the drawings. A control building will be installed on the lakeside work platform at each structure. Work also includes operation of the by-pass structure (at KI-1), operation of by-pass pumping (at S-265), grassing and turbidity monitoring. The draft period of performance for this procurement is a total of over 1,400 calendar days from notice to proceed. Over the next three years, the Jacksonville District anticipates future culvert work with a value of over $50,000,000. The Jacksonville District anticipates future cutoff wall work of over 26 miles of cutoff wall construction with a value of over $250,000,000 to begin in 2019.
