- This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only. This is not a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal. No solicitation document exists at this time. Issuance of this notice does not constitute any obligation on the part of the Government to procure these items or to issue a solicitation. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. This market research tool per FAR Part 10 is being used to determine potential large and small business firms capable of providing the supply and/or services described herein. The Fort Belvoir Mission Installation Contracting Command (MICC), on behalf of the 947th MP Detachment is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified firms capable to provide and deliver food for Military Working Dogs (MWDs). The Government is seeking to identify qualified large and small business sources under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 311111 for Dog and Cat Food Manufacturing (Size Standard - 1000 employees). Description of Items 1,500 lbs. of dog food per month for Military Working Dogs (MWDs) to include German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois. This dog food shall be provided in 50 lbs. bags. 1,500 lbs. of dog food shall be delivered monthly to: 270 Forrest Circle Fort Myer, VA 22211 In accordance with Army Regulation 40-905 para 5-5 and AR 190-12 para 5-5 the dog food must meet the following standards: This dog food shall be high in calories with a high protein content to feed large breed highly active working dogs. Must be able to furnish dog food specifically formulated with respect to urinary care, skin/food sensitivities, heart care, digestive sensitivities, low fat, aging considerations, joint care, kidney sensitivities, liver sensitivities, weight loss and weight reduction formulas, and dental care. Must be able to provide a variety of flavors as possible for each variety of formulated dog food. The dog shall be in dry food from unless specifically prescribed by a veterinarian. Interested parties should furnish the following information (1) Company name, address, point of contact, telephone number, email address, and website address. (2) Business type (3) A capabilities statement regarding similar requirement. (4) CAGE Code, DUNS Number and a list of Government solicitation sites that your company is available on (i.e. FedBizOps, GSA eBuy.). Electronic versions of your statement, ten pages or less shall be submitted via email to gina.a.barto.civ@mail.mil. Telephone responses will NOT be accepted. Responses are due NO LATER THAN 20 March 2017 at 9:00am EST. Please do not respond with brochures, advertisements or other generic material. These will not be considered as a capability statement.
