AHUs for Military Hospitals on March 29, 2017 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m Central European Time (CET) / 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). There is no fee for this event. Interested firms and attendees are encouraged to submit their name, phone number, company, and email address to Scott Blair via email at scott.blair@eu.navy.mil. This Industry Day Forum notice and other information will be posted at https://euro.neco.navy.mil/ under Sources Sought for viewing or downloading. The project in consideration is for the replacement of fourteen (14) air handling units (AHUs) at Naval Air Station Sigonella Hospital, Building 273 located at NAS I. Six (6) of the units are located in the mechanical room in the basement of the hospital. There is not adequate space within the mechanical room to install new units without removing the existing units. Several of these units will need to be relocated to the roof, directly above, the mechanical room. This will allow the new units to be installed, tested, and fully operational before de-energizing the existing units. One (1) unit is located above the false ceiling in the corridor on the second level. This unit is dedicated to the orthodontic lab and must meet the requirements of the lab for temperature control, air exchangers, pressurization, and environmental controls. The remaining seven (7) units are located on the roof above the third level of the hospital. After the removal of each unit the roof membrane shall be replaced and provide a water tight seal before installation of new units. Two (2) new dedicated AHUs shall be installed on the roofs of the hospital. One unit shall be located above the first level and be dedicated to Operating Rooms 1 and 2. The second unit shall be located above the third level and be dedicated to Operating Room 3. These new units shall provide all environmental controls to meet requirements of the Operating Rooms. Existing Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units located in MIS Department, Room 1A-56, shall be replaced to provide adequate cooling and environmental controls for the servers. New units shall be properly sized and equipment load, from servers, shall be calculated. New units shall be provided with 100% full redundancy to space. All Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and electrical panels connected to equipment being replaced shall be replaced with new panels in accordance with current Codes, Standards, and NORMs. Replacement of all AHUs will require phasing of work and coordination of outages to limit down time of units. Sensitive areas including Emergency Room, Blood Storage Bank, and Pharmacy require a maximum outage period of only two (2) hours. Temporary AHUs and generators shall be installed to provide ventilation, environmental controls, and power during utility cutover periods. Designers are required to have experience in the design of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems in accordance with the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-510-01. Military Medical Facilities and knowledge of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) processes.
