- Description
- The objective of this study is to investigate and document effective use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in bridge inspection, identify and document the state of practice in data collection technologies deployed on UAS platforms, assess data quality assurance needed to perform a satisfactory inspection and assessment, and document types of assessment and performance information extracted from collected data for bridge inspection. This study will identify best practice guidelines for efficient and reliable use of payload sensors and guidance on how the collected data should be assessed, presented, and stored to provide reliable and actionable information to owners to support data-driven decisions. In addition, different types of data reporting shall be identified and documented for various users (managers, contractors, consultants, bridge owners, researchers, etc.).
