Description
Request for quotations This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.4, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation is attached. The solicitation is issued as Request for Quotations No. 2017-Q-66444. This procurement is being issued as unrestricted. The NAICS Code is 532412. The National Institute for Occupation Safety and Health (NIOSH) located at 315 E. Montgomery Ave., Spokane, WA has a requirement for the following instrument: Modern, compact, portable diamond core drill suitable for surface and underground drilling. The required equipment characteristics are as follows: SPECIFICATIONS FOR MODERN COMPACT PORTABLE DIAMOND CORE DRILL The following are the minimum operating and performance specifications required: Must be capable of drilling holes in a variety of orientations (vertically up, vertically down, horizontal, or inclined) with the option for adding wireline capability in the future. Key features include the following specifications: 1. Up to N-wireline drill rod capability 2. Feed boom length, minimum 36" (900 mm) 3. Drill head with chuck, gripping range 1-3/16" - 3" (30-76 mm) 4. Rod holder, gripping range 1-3/16" - 4-1/8" (30-106 mm) 5. Mounting frame including tilt cylinder and support legs. 6. Feeding force, minimum capacity 10,000 lbs 7. Pulling force, minimum capacity 12,000 lbs 8. Feed rate, drilling maximum greater than 2 m/min 9. Feed rate, rod running maximum greater than 30 m/min 10. Control panel, central control of all drilling operations 11. Diesel power pack, 77 hp Separate from these requirements, a survey must be undertaken to certify possible sites for installation, prior to completion of purchase.
