- Description
- Dear Prospective Offerors: The purpose of this notice is to comply with the synopses and pre-solicitation notice requirements of FAR 5.2 - Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. Any solicitation resulting from this notice will be handled in accordance with FAR 5.102(d); therefore, availability of the solicitation package is limited to the following electronic medium: FEDBIZOPPS web page (http://www.fbo.gov/). The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for Macedonia intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to implement the project described below. The purpose of the solicitation is to obtain the services for the Project entitled Media Support Activity. The primary objective of the MSA Activity is to ensure that citizens have access to balanced, independent, and professional journalism that provides fact-based information about issues of public concern. MSA will be part of USAID’s overall media portfolio and has three complementary and mutually reinforcing objectives. These are to: I. Create sustained space for investigative journalism and improved opportunities for journalists and civil society organizations to access publicly available data to report on issues of public concern; II. Create media literacy amongst the public that allows citizens to defend their access to free information, critically assess the media messages they receive, and participate in public policy dialogues; and III. Protect journalists and media organizations’ rights and safety. The media portfolio, of which MSA is a part, also has a fourth objective, which is to increase pluralism and transparency in the media environment through content production, Offerors are advised that this is NOT a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) and in no way obligates the US Government to issue a RFP and/or award a contract. Issuance of the RFP solicitation and award of a contract are subject to availability of funds and other internal USAID approvals. The information contained herein is released for wide dissemination to all parties. The information is subject to modification and is in no way binding to the Government. You are advised to regularly check the site noted above for future updates or information and look out for a formal RFP. Interested offerors are encouraged to register themselves as an interested vendor. DO NOT SEND ANY PROPOSALS OR QUESTIONS UNTIL THE FORMAL RFP IS POSTED. USAID bears no responsibility for data errors resulting from this transmission.
