- Description
- This notice announces the intent by the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) in support of U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) to procure INTERCEPT blood system for platelets and plasma pathogen reduction without competition as prescribed in FAR 5.102(a)(6) and 5.203(a). Specifically, the Government will procure a Intercept Pathogen Reduction System manufactured by Cerus Corporation. USAISR has a requirement for a Cerus INTERCEPT blood system for platelets and plasma pathogen reduction. This system reduces Transfusion-Transmitted Infectious (TTI) risk and Transfusion-Associated Graft-Versus-Host Disease (TA-GVHD) of platelet and plasma units through broad-spectrum inactivation of bacteria, viruses, and T-cells. The INTERCEPT system inactivates bacteria, viruses, and T-cells through the crosslinking of nucleic acids via amotosalen and UVA. The INTERCEPT blood system consists of the following components: 1) INTERCEPT Pathogen Reduction Illuminator (part#: INT100-60), 2) INTERCEPT Platelet Processing Set - Large Volume (part #: INT2210B), and 3) INTERCEPT Platelet Processing Set with Dual Storage Containers (part #: INT2510B). System must be FDA approved for use in the USA The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 339112. This Notice of Intent to Sole Source is not a request for competitive quotes. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government for all future requirements. All questions and responses concerning this notice shall be emailed to Brian Miller at brian.d.miller1.civ@mail.mil. Interested concerns must identify their capability in writing to the above email address listed above no later than 11:00 am local (Eastern Time), 30 March 2017.
