Description
Please note this is NOT a request for quote or proposal. The Government is seeking information strictly for market research purposes only. The Government may or may not issue a solicitation document. There is no solicitation at this time. This request for information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. The Network Contracting Office (NCO 9), Murfreesboro, TN is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in providing On-Call Coverage Interventional Radiologist to provide Angio/interventional coverage during the absences of the full-time staff VAMC radiologist. The contractor shall perform and report examinations done in the Angio/interventional section of Radiology Service. The contractor shall perform and interpret emergency specialized procedures after normal working hours that require the expertise of an Interventional Radiologist. All procedures performed shall be completed, dictated within 24 hours of the procedure, and have a signed/verified report for each requested procedure. Reports shall be verified within 48 hours of completion of procedure. The contractor's employees must be available to the VA facility or must actually be performing the required services for the period specified in the contract to receive payment for billable hours. Due to a large population of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, VA Memphis requests Interventional Radiologists who are qualified to perform chemoembolization of liver tumors and percutaneous ablation of liver and kidney tumors in addition to traditional and usual IR procedures. There is an expected volume of approximately 50 emergent after-hour procedures done annually. On-Call physicians must remain within a 30 mile radius of the facility. Hours of needed services are: Seven weeks out of a year from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (coverage for staff vacations and unexpected sick leave). This requires providers to be on-site during this period. Vacation is to include day coverage and night call Weeknights On-Call, 260 per year (weeknight Mon-Friday from 4:30 PM to 8:00 AM) Weekends On-Call, 52 weeks per year Holidays On-Call, 10 per year There are an estimated 50 procedures done after hours annually. A telephone response is expected within 30 minutes from the initial call. Applicable NAICS Code 621111, Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists) applies with a business size standard of $11.0 Million, and the contractor shall be registered and verified in the Systems for Award Management (SAM). The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS Code 621111 (business size standard $11.0 million per annum).
