- The United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 6 intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Waste Controls Specialists, LLC, for continuous storage of fifteen (15) lead lined containers of Greater than Class C (GTCC) radioactive waste materials at the Waste Controls Specialists LLC site in Andrews, TX. Continued short-term storage at the repository site in Andrews, TX for the radioactive waste is needed until a long-term disposal facility becomes licensed to accept Greater than Class C radioactive waste and prevent potential long term grave endangerment to personnel and the environment.
