- Statement of Work: 1) Background: The Food Protection and Innovative Packaging Team (FPIPT) in the Combat Feeding Directorate (CFD), Natick Soldier Center (NSC) has the mission of testing various Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) instruments in support of the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JEPO‐CBD). The mission requires testing of the COTS to determine which instruments will be suitable for the detection of biological warfare agents and toxins in foods. In order for NSRDEC to complete this mission there is a need for proper removal and destruction of this type of biomedical waste. 2) Contractor Tasks: A. General Contractor Tasks: Remove biomedical waste from the Natick Laboratories and destroy/incinerate the waste. B. Specific Contractor Tasks: a) Provide biohazard burn boxes, bags, tape and any other materials required to package the biological waste according to the State of Massachusetts regulations for removal and destruction of biomedical waste. b) Come on to base to remove the packaged waste and transport it to a facility for deactivation/incineration and disposal. This is typically performed on a monthly basis. c) Provide documentation that removal and destruction of the waste was completed. 3) Period of Performance: Three years from date of award. 4) Deliverable(s): Documentation or manifests that verify removal and destruction of the waste. 5) Report Requirements: See number 4. 6) Security: Basic requirements that allow civilian contractors on base.
