- Description
- This is not a request for proposal but is a RFI only. The JANNAF PIB Committee is seeking briefings and/or discussions from the rocket propulsion (RP) industrial base (IB), to include sub-tier industry suppliers, on issues they would like to bring to the attention of senior DoD and NASA leadership. These briefings/discussions would be held in conjunction with the JANNAF meeting to be held May 22 - 26, 2017 in Kansas City, MO. The JANNAF PIB is composed of government rocket propulsion subject matter experts and program office representatives within the Services, Agencies and OSD, and includes the following working groups, which represent different sectors within the RPIB: Large Solid RP, Small Solid RP, Large Liquid RP, Small Liquid RP, Electric Propulsion, Science and Technology, and Test and Evaluation. The PIB produces a biannual report for senior government leadership within DoD and NASA that gives a detailed description of the integrated program plans and key decision points among the various RPIB sectors. It also highlights any new or on-going issues within the RPIB, and recommends mitigation activities which inform key decisions at the highest level within DoD and NASA. Input from the RPIB is essential to ensuring that this report reflects all new and on-going issues, and to provide input into any decisions that are made to solve the issues. This is the RPIB's opportunity to bring this information directly to the PIB so that it can be included in the 2017 report. These briefings/discussions should not be business development/marketing efforts, but a true discussion of any issue(s) industry wants to make the government aware of. These will be closed door sessions, with only government PIB members present. Any proprietary information will be protected, and will not be disclosed outside the PIB government infrastructure. Further details, as they exist, for the JANNAF meetings in May 2017 where these presentations and discussions will occur can be found at https://www.jannaf.org/meetings. If you have any questions about this RFI please contact Dr. Chris Michienzi, Senior Industrial Analyst - Missiles and Munitions, OUSD(AT&L)/DASD, Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy (MIBP), (571) 372-6242, christine.m.michienzi.civ@mail.mil
