- Multi-Spectral Imaging and Targeting Sensor The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) in support of the Multi-Mission Tactical Unmanned Air Systems Program Office (PMA-266) is seeking information for potential sources regarding industry technologies available for a multi-spectral gimbaled Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensor system to be integrated on one or any combination of the United States Navy MQ-8B/C Fire Scout Unmanned Aerial Systems. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes (FAR 15.201(e)). - it does not constitute a Request for Proposals (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Currently, the Fire Scout air vehicle uses an EO/IR sensor installed below the nose of the aircraft entitled BRITE Star II. Advances in information technology and digital interoperability have increased the demand for battlefield information beyond the capabilities of BRITE Star II. PMA-266 is researching products which are available to meet the evolved requirements within the following class of turret diameters and weight: Diameter (in) Weight (lbs) 13.0 to 19.0 76.0 to 150.0 As a result of this RFI, NAVAIR expects to receive from each respondent an UNCLASSIFIED white paper, which contains lifecycle financial data of the sensor system and supporting technical data. Full, unclassified responses should be submitted in a compatible Adobe Acrobat 8.0 electronic format with two supporting hard copies and two CD-ROMs. These submissions are due no later than 24 April 2017 (5:00PM EST) to the addresses provided on page 5. Questions regarding this notice shall be submitted in writing by e-mail to the Contract Specialist at bradley.lysaght@navy.mil. Verbal questions will NOT be accepted. Questions will be answered by posting frequently asked questions on the Federal Business Opportunities website (https://www.fbo.gov) accordingly; questions shall NOT contain proprietary or classified information. The Government will accept questions up to or before 21 April 2017. Questions received after this date may not be answered.
