Description
REVISED COMBINED SYNOPSIS SOLICITATION AMENDMENT 0001: THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO ANSWER QUESTIONS RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THE SOLICITATION NOTICE, AND INCORPORATE REVISIONS TO SPECIFICATIONS, AS FOLLOWS: SPECIFICATION 1.G IS REVISED AS FOLLOWS: 1.g. The seed oscillator shall provide an inline f-2f interferometer for detecting the offset frequency. The inline f-2f interferometer must be completely fiber-based, and achieve signal-to-noise ratios of greater than 35 dB in a 100 kHz resolution bandwidth. ( Stronger consideration shall be given to the quotation that provides higher signal to noise) SPECIFICATION 2.C. IS REVISED AS FOLLOWS: 2.c. The output emission at the polarization-maintaining fiber output shall have a linearly polarized power per comb mode of at least 1 nW, for the wavelengths 532 nm, 543 nm, and 633 nm. The power requirement corresponds to a spectral density of 60 uW or larger of optical power across 10 nm bandwidth. Emission at these wavelengths may be either simultaneous or user selectable. (Stronger consideration shall be given for the quotation that provides linearly polarized power per comb mode of at least 2 nW, for the wavelengths 532nm, 543nm, and 633 nm, strongest consideration shall be given for more power per comb mode at 633 nm. A spectral power of 6 uW per 1 nm or 3 uW per 0.5 nm will be considered equivalent to the stated specification of 60 uW power in 10 nm, as long as the emission overlaps the stated requirement of 633 nm, 543 nm and 532 nm.) SPECIFICATION 3.d.ii IS REVISED AS FOLLOWS: 3.d.ii. ii. In the "adjustable" operating mode, NIST will provide a synthesizer signal at 250 MHz (or some multiple of up to 3 GHz). The servo electronics shall use this synthesizer signal to lock the repetition frequency to 250 MHz and be capable of tuning 1 MHz or more. The servo electronics shall also be capable of locking the offset frequency to a signal provided by an internal (or external) synthesizer, and the offset shall be tunable by up to 1 MHz. THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS WERE RECEIVED AND RESPONSES ARE FOLLOWS: Question 1. Specificiation 1.a.: seed oscillator requirements and section 3.d.ii are not in agreement, section 1a) requires a 2 MHz rep. rate tuning range, whereas, section 3.d.ii requires a 1 MHz tuning range. Is a rep. rate tuning range of 1.2 MHz (+/- 600 kHz) acceptable? Answer 1: Specification "1.a." refers to the free-running repetition frequency. The +/- 1 MHz tolerance refers to the acceptable range in which the free-running repetition frequency could operate. It does not refer to tuning requirement. Question 2. Specification 2.c., will NIST accept 1 nW/comb mode? Answer 2. Please see the revised specification above, and on the attached revised Combined Synopsis Solicitation document. Question 3. Specification 3d ii.) "adjustable" operating mode: Please clarify that NIST can provide a synthesizer at the 4th harmonic of 250 MHz, i.e. at 1 GHz. Answer 3. Please see the revised specification above, and on the attached revised Combined Synopsis Solicitation. The evaluation criteria and submission requirements section are hereby revised to incorporate the revisions of specification 1.g and 2.c, please see the attached revised Combined Synopsis Solicitation for details. All other terms remain unchanged.
