Description
SOO for IRM UPS cables, caps and batteries The scope and purpose of this need is that our main UPS for the IRM server room is in need of replacement cables for battery interconnect cables due to corrosion in the old cables. Secondly it is time to replace aged capacitors on both the AC and DC sides of the machine. Thirdly it is time to replace the batteries due to age. This UPS is an MGE Comet 65KVA, serial# B02-10920. A. The results expected from this acquisition are: a complete new set of battery interconnect cables, replacement capacitor assemblies installed and verified operational, and replace the current batteries with fresh ones and remove the old batteries from site. (recycle) B. Specifically, the items needed are: Fabricate a new set of battery interconnect cables; this includes 2, 35 (MGE part number 98-MGE-COM-4-0-35); 3, 10 (MGE part number 98-MGE-COM-4-0-10); 30, 15 (MGE part number 98-MGE_COM-4-0-15) cables and replacement lugs (MGE part number 98-MGE_COM-LUG 10mm). Replace 6 AC caps (MGE part number 98-CCM3055R6). Replace 1 other AC cap (MGE part number 98-ACM4560R7). Replace 2 AC caps (MGE part number 98-CCM4560R). Replace 2 DC cap assemblies (MGE part number 98-ACM24245D8). For replacement batteries, this device has 36, 12V 140ah batteries needs to have same physical dimensions as 12HX505FR 13.2 L x 6.77 W x 10.94 H. Plus the travel and labor needed to fabricate, install and remove the old parts. C. The items for this job are a fixed amount of items. D. This work must be done by fully trained field engineers as it can be very dangerous and potentially jepordize this critical piece of protection equipment by not having been done with all connectors torqued to spec and connections accurately attached. We will need to do this work after 5pm due to IT requirements (less of an issue if we crash due to less users online). The UPS is in a power vault that is ½ a floor below the basement so we will need to carry the batteries down about 10 steps and carry the used batteries back to the pallet up that same set of stairs. We do have a loading dock where we can accept the batteries during our normal business hours of 0800-1600. I will be able to get a pallet jack and bring the batteries down to the power vault door and I ll be able to return the used batteries to the warehouse for recycling. E. Drawings would not help with this work. F. All materials/equipment needed for this work will be brought by the field engineer doing the work. G. Only these exact parts may be used to rebuild this UPS to achieve the same performance as we expect from this item. 3. There are 2 unusual things about this job that will drive the cost higher: first the work must be done after 5pm to minimize IT risk. And second the batteries must be carried down to the unit and old batteries carried back up to the pallet. 4. This work to be done at VACCHCS 2615 E. Clinton Ave. Fresno, CA 93703 5. This is a one time job. 6. The government will be providing a loading dock for the delivery for the batteries and loaning a pallet jack to move the pallet of batteries to their point of installation. 7. The equipment must be fully functional at the completion of the work. This SOW prepared by Roger Southard, biomed, 559-225-6100x5852, roger.southard@va.gov 08/18/2015
