- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) intends to award a purchase order to American Public Health Association (APHA), 800 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 for advances in health disparities research. The purpose of this purchase order is to purchase an online only full issue supplement to share progress on recent advances in health disparities research, practice and policy. The order is to publish scientific research in the field of public health, serve as a forum for diverse viewpoints on major public health issues and policies; promote diverse public health practice models and to work in concert with the three main priorities of the American Public Health Association, namely to develop universal coverage; eliminate health disparities and rebuild the public health infrastructure. The sole source determination is based on the American Journal of Public Health is the official journal of the American Public Health Association. The American Journal of Public Health is able to publish all of the articles needed to share the full range of progress on recent advances in health disparities research, practice and policy in a single supplement. AJPH is a high - quality, high - impact journal and such a supplement is urgently needed to promote a cohesive perspective for advancing minority health and health disparities research and an AJPH is the best venue for accomplishing it. In compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a single source. This solicitation is not a Small Business Set-Aside. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that the RFQ NIH-NICHD-17-065 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. All interested parties to this solicitation may request a copy of the RFQ package in writing to the attention of Ms. April N. Martin at National Institute Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), 6710B Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD 20817 or via email april.martin@nih.gov. All requests must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number. Email addresses are encouraged but not mandatory.
