Description
Synopsis: NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Two (2) hermetic canisters that incorporate the following features: -It shall be a direct match to the SPEC hermetically-sealed canister with trailing cone purchased by NASA Glenn from Stratton Park Engineering Co, Inc. (SPEC) -Two Amphenol 26-159-24 connectors on the interior of the canister. One in the vertical and one in the horizontal orientations -Canister is to be hermetically sealed to protect instrument from moisture and maintain constant pressure -Canister weight is to be less than 12 lbs -The back bulkhead shall have two Swagelock purge ports -The aft cap shall be cone shape to reduce aerodynamic drag. NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to Stratton Park Engineering CO, Inc under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). It has been determined that Stratton Park Engineering Co, Inc is the sole provider of Two (2) hermetic canisters as described above. NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Glenn Research Center (GRC). The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541712 Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than Noon, Central Standard Time on Thursday, March 29, 2017. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
