Description
The Steep Creek Slide Repair has been designated as an emergency by Local USFS. The project will require an end completion time no later than 28 April 2017. Prebid Tour and Site Visit: Date: 5 April 2017 Time: 11:00 AM Locatiion: The slide crossing of the portion of USFS Road 247 as described in the "Location/Address" in this solcitation. a. Description of Work. SLIDE REPAIR: The services covered in this contract are for the furnishing of all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform slide repair on USFS road 247 at Steep Creek as specified herein, in compliance with the terms, specifications, conditions, and provisions of this solicitation. Road slide removal/ repair will consist of removing an upslope slide from Steep Creek on the opposite side of Beaver Creek. A waste site will be available adjacent to the slide for the large woody debris. The large woody debris shall be separated into two separate piles. Logs identified by the FS shall be decked for later sale. Other Woody debris shall be decked as neatly as possible to be used at a later time for fish habitat improvement to be completed in a separate contract. Large clean boulders will be used as stream bank armor, and soil shall be hauled to a waste site approximately 1.4 miles away. Equipment rental hours for an excavator will be used to break up the log jam in the stream and to armor the road side stream bank.
