STATEMENT OF WORK: Title: Service Contract with 4 Option Years for CareFusion Cardiopulmonary, PFT, & Metabolic Units at James J. Peters VA Medical Center and Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. Background: The three (3) Vmax Encore Metabolic Carts, (2 located at James J. Peters VAMC (JJP VA) and 1 at Kessler Inst.) provides cardiopulmonary stress testing and indirect calorimetry testing in one metabolic cart. The cart is used for detecting exercise air flow limitation, and to examine the relationship between pulmonary blood flow and gas exchange. Model # Serial # 22 E GGA000206-A 229 E GGA000590-A 29N E KKW01931-A The one (1) Flow-volume Loop Spirometry Impulse Oscillatory System, (located at JJP VA) is an add-on component to the encore metabolic cart that displays airflow (in L/sec) as it relates to lung volume (in L) during maximal inspiration from complete exhalation and during maximum expiration from complete inhalation. The principal advantage of the flow-volume loop is that it can show whether airflow is appropriate for a particular lung volume. Model # Serial # MS-IOS V 733018 The one (1) Autobox PFT System (located at JJP VA), is an add-on component to the encore metabolic cart that combines pressure-compensated flow technology for plethysmography testing. Model # Serial # 62 JW GGA000206-A The two (2) Oxycon Mobile unit (1 located at JJP VA and 1 at Kessler Institute) measures metabolic data in the resting state and during physical activity with the unique ability to perform these measurements remotely. Model # Serial # Oxycon Mobile 810512 Oxycon Mobile 810513 Objectives: These apparatuses are currently functioning normally. However, given the sophistication of the software and the many movable parts in these systems, as well as their frequent use for many of our research Center s testing protocols, an annual service contract is required to keep them running and repaired quickly when necessary.
