- APRIL 7, 2017 REQUEST FOR PRICE QUOTATIONS The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking price quotations to provide, deliver, and stockpile large tree sections with attached rootwads, as described in the attached Solicitation document, for use by the Government in an upcoming environmental rehabilitation and enhancement project at Harrrison Township, Michigan. Trees shall be 18-24 inches in diameter at breast height (DBH). The trunk length (beginning above the root wad) shall be 20-30 feet long. Limbs should be no longer than 4 feet measuring from the trunk. Tree species must have a Water - Wood Density Difference of 5 lb/ft3 or greater as typical for swamp white oak, white oak, eastern red cedar, hackberry, green ash, black walnut, and sassafras. Trees must have originated in the United States. The contractor is responsible for being familiar with State of Michigan and federal quarantines and restrictions, for ensuring that any laws and regulations regarding insects, pests, and/or diseases are adhered to, and that the purchased trees do not show visible signs of pest damage or disease. Delivery is to a site on the shore of Lake St. Clair in Southeast Michigan. See Figure 1 and Figure 2 for additional information. Furnishing, transportation, and delivery shall be completed by June 1, 2017. A complete description of the requirements, along with instructions for submitting price quotations, are included in the attached Solicitation document. The estimated cost of this action is between $25,000 and $100,000. It is expected that one fixed-price contract will be awarded. The price includes all taxes, transportation, and labor costs. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 113310 Logging, which includes the provision of tree-based materials. The successful offeror must be registered in the Government's System for Award Management (SAM) with this NAICS code prior to and as a condition of the award of any contract. This acquisition is 100% set aside for Small Business. The small business size standard for this NAICS code is 500 or fewer employees. Price quotations are to be submitted via email to the addresses indicated in the INSTRUCTIONS TO OFFERORS section of the Solicitation document. Responses are due by the date and time indicated on this page. Questions may be addressed to the Government's Primary Point of Contact as identified below. This announcement is the one and only advertisement for thsi requirement.
