- Registration Form SILC BSS INDUSTRY DAY: The U.S. Coast Guard Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center (SILC) Base Services and Support (BSS)Contracting Office will host an Industry Day event in Norfolk, Virginia on 14 June 2017. This one-day event will provide a forum where we may communicate an overview of our processes and organization; provide general guidance on how to do business with us; and provide information on upcoming requirements. WHEN: June 14, 2017 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.) WHERE: SLOVER LIBRARY 235 E PLUME ST NORFOLK, VA, 23510 HTTP://WWW.SLOVERLIBRARY.COM/ ABOUT THE EVENT: During this Industry Day event, there will be time allotted to network with Contracting Officers and Small Business Specialists. The event will be structured in two parts: the morning session (9-11am)will consist of a panel discussion with an opportunity to address attendees' questions regarding contracting with SILC Base Services and Supplies; while the afternoon session will consist of one-on-one 20 minute meetings between contracting representatives and representatives from individual companies. Companies are required to pre-register to attend one or both sessions. For more information, please see "Registration" below. WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Companies, large and small, including socioeconomic businesses that are interested in SILC Base Services and Support contracting and subcontracting opportunities in areas including, but not limited to: janitorial services; grounds/landscaping services; food services; housing maintenance services; and maritime supplies such as buoys and lanterns. Representatives from the emergency contracting branch will also be present to discuss oil spill and other response contracting agreements, such as Basic Ordering Agreements (BOAs). Prior federal contracting experience is not required. MORE INFORMATION ABOUT US: SILC BSS posts upcoming requirements in the Acquisition Planning and Forecast System (APFS) at http://apfs.dhs.gov/ We encourage all businesses interested in doing business with the Coast Guard to regularly review the APFS site. Requirements over $150,000 are posted in APFS early in the contracting process and before solicitations are posted on Federal Business Opportunities (FBO). APFS gives businesses an opportunity to know what requirements are upcoming and when, the scale and general scope of the project, and the points of contact for additional information. For businesses interested in doing business with our office at SILC BSS, we consist of four (4) operational branches organized by function: Emergency Services Contracting Operations Branch (COB1) that performs Oil Spill, Earthquake, Hurricane, HAZMAT Emergency Response contracting; COOP Planning; and Support for Incident Command System efforts; Commercial Support Services Contracting Operations Branch (COB2) that performs Base Operating Support Services (BOSS), Grounds Maintenance, Janitorial Services, Food Service, etc.; Purchasing, Interagency Agreements, and Utilities Contracting Operations Branch (COB3) that performs Utilities and Simplified Acquisitions (under $150,000); and Supply and Base Support Contracting Operations Branch (COB4) that performs contracts for supplies and services for requirements not associated with "routine base services" to include contracts for buoys, lanterns, etc. INDUSTRY DAY REGISTRATION: Every individual must pre-register to attend this Industry Day event. Please see attached Registration Form. Please limit the number of attendees from your company to two (2) people, as seats will be limited and reservations will be based on a first come-first served basis. There is no cost to attend this event; however, space is limited to the first 150 registrants. There will be no refreshments served at this event.
