- SOURCES SOUGHT This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only. The purpose of this is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size relative to NACIS 238310. Responses will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses are not considered responses to any potential solicitation announcement. (DRAFT) STATEMENT OF WORK A. General Requirements Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, equipment, permits, licenses, and supervision necessary to repair fireproofing at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC). All work shall be done in accordance with the current issue of NFPA 70. B. SPECIFIC CONTRACT WORK REQUIREMENTS Scope of work: 1) Patch existing spray-on fireproofing for a 2 Hour fire rating at 39 mechanical rooms using UL design D-916 with WR Grace Monokote MK-6HY thickness 1 1/16. Estimated average of each mechanical room is 1,345 sq. ft. *Note: the I-Beams that run along the ceiling are intermittent and do not cover the entire ceiling 2) Remove all staging materials and debris, clean spaces, and restore areas to full access. Code Compliance 1) All work shall comply with the latest applicable NFPA Codes, the latest applicable IBC, the select SFRM manufacturer specification sheets, and the UL Directory by a UL qualified SFRM contractor, or certified for application of the specific SFRM by the manufacturer. Materials and Workmanship 1) Installer Qualifications: The Fireproofing Applicator shall be certified as a UL Qualified SFRM Contractor, or certified for application of the specific SFRM by the manufacturer. 2) Fireproofing materials shall be obtained from a single manufacturer for each type of fireproofing applied and match the existing SFRM material. 3) The requirements for application shall be based on testing conducted by Underwriters Laboratories in accordance with accepted standards for an hourly fire resistance rating of a structural member or assembly. C. Deliveries or Performance 1) Award Date to Completion Date: 60 days 2) Daily Work Report Prior to each visit to the facility, Contractor s service representative must notify the COR of the visit. The Contractor shall report to the Safety office, Room 4B-330, Building 100, 4th floor, Facilities Management Service, both upon arrival and prior to departure. Unless special arrangements are made, work is to be completed Monday-Friday (excluding federal holidays) between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 3) Place of Performance: Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center 2002 Holcombe BLVD Houston, TX 77030 D. Site Visit 1) The contractor shall possess the capability to conduct a site visit during solicitation as well as after award with the Contracting Officer Representative. All interested firms shall provide the following information: company name, address, point of contact, phone number, email address, capability statement, business size, DUNS and GSA contract (if any) pursuant to the NAICS code 238310. Responses to this notice shall be e-mailed to John.Ritter@va.gov. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses shall be received in writing no later than Monday, March 27, 2017 at 10a.m. CST. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties shall respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation.
